Q What is the cost to take the courses?
A-1 For those seeking to adopt, the cost per individual or couple registering is $100.
A-2 For social workers and other adoption agency professionals the cost is $200 per individual. The fee includes all courses and certificates of completion.
Q How do I pay?
A-1 For individuals seeking to adopt, the $100 fee is paid online through PayPal.
A-2 For social workers and other adoption agency professionals, the $200 fee is paid online through PayPal.
A-3 Another payment option, for those who do not want to use PayPal, is to pay by check or money order. For personal checks, cashier's checks and bank money orders, there is a 10 day hold. There is no hold for Postal Money orders. You can mail your payment to Adoption Education, LLC, P.O. Box 2180, Milford, CT 06460. You must include your phone number and e-mail address with your payment. We will e-mail you when your payment has cleared and your account has been activated. If payment is returned to us for 'insufficient funds' we reserve the right to notify your agency.
Q Why did I not receive my confirmation with my UserID and Password?
A-1 You entered an incorrect e-mail address. If you suspect you typed your e-mail address incorrectly, e-mail us with your correct e-mail address and we will forward your confirmation.
A-2 Our e-mail (info@adopteducation.com) is blocked by your e-mail program. Update your spam blocker and address book to permit our e-mail address. E-mail us when you have made this update and we will forward your confirmation.
A-3 If you pay by e-check you will not be issued a userid and password until the check clears (generally 4 business days).
Q Help! I just paid and my sign-on does not work!
Please wait until you receive your e-mail sign-on confirmation from Adoption Education after you paid through PayPal. If you sign-on still does not work after you receive your e-mail confirmation, contact us at info@adopteducation.com or call us at (203) 371-5787 between 9am-4pm EST for technical assistance questions. Please leave a call-back number and when is the best time to reach you. We will respond to your telephone call within 24 hours.
Q If I pay by e-check through PayPal, can I take the courses before my e-check clears?
If you pay by e-check your account will be deactivated until the check clears (generally 4 business days). No certificates will be issued until the check clears.
Q Do I need a high speed internet connection to read the courses?
The courses were designed without any fancy bells and whistles. You do not need special flash players or audio players to view the courses. In addition, all courses have an optional hardcopy printout in PDF format. However, your must complete the quiz on-line.
Q What if I don't see my agency listed in the drop down window?
Contact your agency and ask them to contact us to be added to the list. If you have already contacted them and your agency said they should be listed, please contact us at info@adopteducation.com.
Q Does my agency receive a copy of the certificate(s)?
Yes, the certificate(s) is e-mailed to both you and your agency.
Q Do I need to be affiliated with an agency to take a course?
No, please select "NONE" as an agency choice.

Check with your agency. In all likelihood, they will only require that you take the course pertaining to the country from which you plan to adopt.

Yes, you can return to the courses at any time for a period of one year from registration.

You can return to the courses at any time for a period of one year from registration.
Q How do you know that I've completed a course and the quiz?
Our database keeps track of your progress and the receipt of your certificate.
Q What if it takes me less than 10 hours to complete all the courses?
Your agency expects you to be trained and prepared for your impending adoption; the Hague International Treaty mandates that you receive training. If you 'speed read' through the materials and/or skip right to the quizzes, our system will 'red flag' your account; you will be asked to go back and re-read the materials and your agency will be notified.
Q Are your courses Hague compliant?
You must take all of our courses in order to meet the 10 hour requirement set by Hague. The "Waiting Parents and Lifebooks" course is not required by Hague, therefore it is not included in the 10 hours and no certificate is issued.
Q Can I print your online courses?
All courses are can be downloaded as a pdf document and printed. The printable versions of our online courses are for your use only and can be beneficial in allowing you to study without having to read from your computer screen. However, you must sign back on to take the quiz for each course.
No copying, publishing or redistribution of ANY course is permitted without the express, written consent of Adoption Education, LLC.
Q Will I receive a certificate after completing each course?
Your agency wants you to complete all or some of the coursework on this website. You will receive a certificate after you successfully complete the quiz at the end of each course, however you must complete the courses to comply with your agency's pre-adoption training requirements.
a. For most agencies we issue one certificate listing all courses instead of one certificate per course. Since some agencies do not require all courses to be completed, we are asking that you continue to email us after each quiz you complete but that you notify us when you have completed your last course and we will issue your certificate.
b. Some agencies require one certificate per course. For those agencies, the certificate will be issued after you successfully complete the quiz at the end of each course.
Q Help! I am having problems e-mailing the certificate request when I click on CLICK HERE TO REQUEST YOUR CERTIFICATE!
To expedite receipt of your certificates, please send us an e-mail directly from your personal e-mail account with the name of the certificate in the Subject line. Include the date of completion if you are sending the e-mail on a different day. If the e-mail address is different than the one you registered with, be sure to include you name in the e-mail.
Q How long must I wait to receive the certificate once I've completed a course?
If your account information is up to date, including the name of your agency, the certificate will be e-mailed to you within three business days of successful completion of the final quiz. The Certificate will arrive via e-mail in a PDF format. This PDF certificate can then be printed. Your agency will be notified at the same time and receive a copy of your certificate.
Q Is there a separate fee to receive a certificate?
No, the $100 registration fee includes the Certificate.

Click on the FORGOT MY PASSWORD link on the right-hand side of any page of www.adopteductation.com. Type in your e-mail address and your password will be sent to you. If your e-mail address has changed, contact us at info@adopteducation.com. Please do not set up a new registration.
Q Can I sign on to the courses from another computer?
Yes.

Yes, you can bookmark any page. However, once the browser is closed and you visit the page again, you will be prompted for your username and password.
Q How do I find out about the post-adoption reporting requirements of the country I will be adopting from?
Your adoption agency is required to provide this information to you. You must contact them directly to obtain this information.
Q I am a social worker; can I use your courses for CEUs?
We are presently working toward having the NASW approve the courses for CEU credits. If you would like to take the courses now and obtain certificates, notwithstanding the absence of NASW's approval, contact us to learn how.
